Description

Lovima is a contraception pill that only contains progestogens and works to prevent pregnancy. It can be up to 99% effective when used correctly. Every tablet of Lovima contains 75 micrograms of desogestrel, a type of progestogen. This type of birth control is also known as a progestogen-only pill (POP), and you may be more familiar with it as the mini pill .

Desogestrel, which was previously only available on prescription, is the active ingredient in Lovima. This desogestrel contraceptive pill works to prevent pregnancy by preventing the release of an egg, also known as ovulation. Desogestrel also thickens cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to travel to the uterus.

The active substance is Desogestrel (75 microgram).

The other ingredients are: Lactose Monohydrate, Povidone K30 (E1201), Maize Starch, d-α-Tocopherol (E307), Silica, Colloidal Hydrated (E551), Colloidal Anhydrous (E551), Soybean Oil, Stearic Acid (E570), Hypromellose 2910 (E464), Titanium Dioxide (E171), Polyethylene Glycol.
